British Sitcoms

Porridge

Porridge has a target audience of people who grew up around the time it was on and the people who where older at the time.  It would appeal to that audience because a lot of people that age would like this sort of comedy.

Originally aired on BBC from 1974-1977

Fawlty Towers
Fawlty Towers would appeal to an older audience because of the setting and that there is references that younger people may not understand until they are older this audience would fit because of how its set in a hotel and what they do in a hotel a younger person wouldn't understand because they haven't had to do what the adults in the programme do.

Originally aired on BBC 1975-1979

The Young Ones

The Young Ones is set at a younger audience as they are anarchist in the programme which would of appealed to the young people of the time. This audience fits because at the time the things that they where doing is what a lot of young people where doing.

Originally aired on BBC 1982-84

Black Adder
Black Adder is set at all audience because it hasn't really got anything that is bad in it or references that people would find confusing.  This is a family programme because it is on at a family time when it's rerun and when it was on.

Originally aired on BBC 1983-1989

Only Fools And Horses

Only Fools And Horses is a family show as it is on most days from afternoon until 6 at night this means that its a family show.  It is family show because it has a family in the show anyway.
